NSW ELECTION FORUM ON ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES

The NSW State election is fast approaching (23 March).  In collaboration with the National Parks Association of NSW, the Willoughby Environmental Protection Association Inc  (WEPA) has invited the sitting members and local candidates from the North Shore and Willoughby electorates to participate in a non-partisan forum.

Join us to hear your local candidates’ views on the big environmental issues of our time.
When: 7pm Tuesday 19 February 2019
Where: Glenaeon School Hall, 121 Edinburgh Road, Castlecrag
Protection of the natural environment and decisive action to deal with climate change are emerging as key issues in the forthcoming State election.  The community is calling on its future leaders to safeguard and restore the NSW environment for the benefit of our people, our economy and our sustainable future.

WEPA and NPA NSW have asked candidates to address a number of important issues including:

• the Northern Beaches and Western Harbour Tunnels project
• expanding and protecting our National Parks
• the protection of koalas and the creation of a Great Koala National Park
• the continued logging of Public Native Forests
• the importance of a green urban environment to community health and well-being
• measures to deal with climate change.

Equal time will be provided at the Forum for the sitting members and candidates to speak on these and other related environmental issues.  This will be followed by an opportunity for the audience to ask questions of the panel.  The meeting will end at approximately 8:30pm.
