The City of Willoughby is situated on the North Shore of Sydney. It comprises the suburbs of Chatswood, Artarmon, Naremburn, St Leonards, Northbridge, Castlecrag, Middle Cove and Castle Cove.It is bordered to the East by Middle Harbour and to the West by the Lane Cove River. These waterways and their tributaries have a major impact on the city, having led to the preservation of several significant areas of remnant native bushland in some of the most spectacular locations in inner Sydney.
WEPA originally started as a community response to the gradual degradation of this irreplaceable natural heritage. In recent years Willoughby City Council has become most progressive in looking after the natural environment and has taken on much of the work previously undertaken by WEPA. Our members continue to assist Council through cooperative participation in a range of local initiatives.
