Heading for Extinction (and what to do about it) – WEPA Public Mtg – 19 Nov.

aug 9 XR Zeb 2

Extinction Rebellion is a rapidly-growing, global activist movement focussed on getting the world to tell the truth about the climate & ecological emergency, and to act now!

WEPA will be hosting an introductory talk and meet up to learn more about the climate and biodiversity emergency, Extinction Rebellion’s history and principles, and how Extinction Rebellion is taking non-violent direct action to tackle the crisis head-on.

Where: School Hall, Glenaeon Primary School, 121 Edinburgh Road, Castlecrag

When: 7pm, Tuesday 19 November 2019

The speakers for the evening are Kim Warner, and Stephen Crane.

Kim, a local resident and mother of two teenage children and is deeply concerned for their future.  Kim works full time in the financial sector within the mortgage broking industry and volunteers for Lifeline when she can.  Kim believes the core strategy and regenerative culture found in Extinction Rebellion to be the best way to tackle the most critical issue of our times.

Stephen, an Exhibitions Project Manager at a major museum in Sydney, has three daughters and is deeply concerned for their future. Stephen believes Extinction Rebellion offers our best hope to alert the general population to the crisis and to affect meaningful change in the system that has brought us to the brink.

Join us after the talk for more conversation over tea and coffee.
