We are very excited to announce that WEPA will be holding its 40th birthday party (yes! It’s 4 decades since our first public meeting!) from 12 noon to 2:30pm on Sunday 16 October 2022.
The party will be in Flat Rock Gully (off Small Street, Willoughby) the site of one of WEPA’s first campaigns in the 1980s to halt the tipping of rubbish into the bush valley and support Willoughby City Council in its rehabilitation of the bush. In 2022, the proposal for the Beaches Link tunnel to destroy this bushland, highlights the continued need for strong, local organisations like our own.
Our event will be one of many ‘Picnics for Nature’ co-hosted that day by the Nature Conservation Council of NSW.
We will have stalls, speakers, give-aways, a cake and activities for young and old. Members, friends, and neighbours are all encouraged to join in.
Add our event to your diary now and further details will be circulated shortly.
