The Challenge of Conserving Willoughby’s Urban Canopy

Come to the next WEPA gathering, where you’ll have the opportunity to hear from Willoughby Council’s Resilience Specialist, Nick Chapman and Tree Compliance Officer, Alistair Quek.

This is an important event for anyone concerned about the loss of trees on private property, those interested in local tree management and climate resilience, or curious about what’s happening with Willoughby’s Urban Forests – bushland, parks, street trees, gardens, shrubs, and groundcover. There will be discussion about how Council can collaborate with the community to conserve and extend the canopy, hopefully surpassing the NSW Government’s target of achieving 40% tree canopy coverage across Sydney by 2036.

The presentation will include time for discussion and a Q&A with our speakers, followed by refreshments.

When: 7pm for presentation commencing 7.30pm on Tuesday 19 August 2025
Where: The Dougherty Community Centre, 7 Victor Street, Chatswood

Don’t miss this opportunity to come along to talk trees with our local experts and meet other WEPA members. There is no need to RSVP and we warmly welcome all nature lovers, so please bring along any interested friends and family.
