WEPA is hosting an exciting birding event, exploring the fascinating world of Sydney’s birds with renowned urban ecologist Dr John Martin. His recent bird-related projects include a wing-tagging assessment of the movement and foraging behaviour of sulphur-crested cockatoos and the homing habits of white ibis fledglings, as well as a study into the availability and use of tree hollows for nesting.

Learn how bird behaviour is changing in response to urban environments, discover surprising trends from recent research, and be among the first to hear the results of the Birds of Willoughby 2026 Winter Survey, providing new insights into the diversity and abundance of local birdlife. There will be plenty of time for Q&A after Dr Martin’s presentation.

Light refreshments will be served on the night.
