At its February meeting, the Executive noted with regret the resignation from the WEPA Executive of long-time member, Harold Spies, due to ill-health. In order to honour Harold’s commitment he was unanimously awarded Life Membership at the recent Annual General Meeting (21 March).
Harold is a founding member of WEPA and has been on its Executive Committee for over 35 years; in that time providing wise counsel on a wide variety of WEPA policies, campaigns and projects. He has also been a dedicated activist in the field: leading walks, working on the bush regeneration project, aiding Gay in producing the newsletter, turning up in rain and shine to help man WEPA’s many public stalls and acting as the keeper of the organisation’s records.
We hope to have Harold join us at future WEPA events when his health is restored.
